A container was loaded today destined for Ploiesti Romania. The soup mix that arrived earlier from the Prairie Gleaners will make approximately 320,000 servings of nutritious soup. Also included are; many ski outfits donated from Whistler-Blackcomb Ski Resort, 15,000 pounds of winter clothing and blankets, sewing machines and sewing supplies, furniture, a piano, and 15 bicycles.
The container is expected to arrive at the end of October and will be received by our agent in Romania Daniel Sladariu and distributed throughout the region. Many seniors in this area live in very poor conditions often in nothing more than a steel clad shack. They often go hungry and cold because there is little government support for them. There are also several orphanages in the area that will receive much needed warm clothing and food.
This is one container in an ongoing effort to bring relief to the people of Romania; in the months to come we will send more. Please consider how you can help us either by donation of good quality used and new clothing or a financial donation.
